El Rey ruins are another famous Mayan archaeological site located in downtown Cancun.
Named after a skeleton found at the site believed to be a king named El Rey, the ruins are now located in downtown Cancun. The site, once a prominent Mayan city is now inhabited by lots and lots of Iguanas who have become used to the visitors here. If Cancun is meant for Spring breakers, then it is equally handcrafted for history lovers to delve deep into the traces of the ancient past.
