The United Nations Square is a public square located between the old Medina and the commercial centre of Casablanca. Most of Casablanca’s main streets converge on this Square, and it is one of the most visited spots. It is recognized for the brilliant blue Zovaco dome, which represents the world. The Square is populated with cafes, restaurants and shopping centres.
The United Nations Square can be crossed through the underground passageway, which also acts as a shopping centre. It is also famous for its views of the Hyatt Regency Hotel, St. John’s Anglican Church, the Old Medina Clocktower and the beautiful central fountain. It is best to visit in the evenings when the traffic has eased, and live musicians, storytellers and other street performers dominate the Square. The Square has its tramway stop and can be reached easily.
