Established in the year 1880, The Royal Colombo Golf Club is located in Colombo at the Anderson Golf Course and is the oldest golf course in Colombo. The game of golf was introduced by the British to a small English colony called Ceylon. This golf course is spread over a whopping 6500 yards and has 18 holes.
Surrounded by the greens, there is an iconic clubhouse which is pretty breezy and lovely. It has an open ambience and is a spot to relax, and railroad tracks are running through the course, from where the train passes occasionally. The fairways have cow grass with some new water bodies. The greens are hard and fast and have Tifeagle grass and a lot of trees. On the course, you are most likely to spot white-headed eagles, kingfisher, monitor lizards, fruit bats etc.
