It has 14 islands, out of which Koločep, Lopud, and Šipan are the only ones with permanent residents. These three islands can be visited by joining a ‘Three Islands and Picnic Tour’ offered by various operators with desks at the Old Harbour of Dubrovnik. The tour includes lunch and drinks as well. The car-free Lopud harbours within the prettiest settlement in all of Elaftiti; stoned houses, ruined fortresses, and picturesque gardens. Its seaside offerings include a 15th-century Franciscan Monastery, Dordic Mayneri Park, Your Black Horizon Art Pavilion, etc.Covering 16 sq km Šipanis the largest of the Elafiti Islands and has a 15th-century Gothic Duke’s palace, the Skočibuha villa and tower, etc. With just over 160 inhabitants, Koločep is the best option if you are looking for a forest retreat. This island is covered with Olive groves, orange and lime orchards and age-old pine forests. It also has a large resort-style hotel with a sandy beach with a rocky but pretty nudist area.
