The People’s Palace is nestled in Templeton Street in the renowned Glasgow Green area. The social history museum in Glasgow holds exhibitions on the industrial past of Glasgow & the native language. It also has an on-site cafe and a shop.
The City Engineer of Glasgow - Alexander B. McDonald modeled the museum building with red sandstone, featuring a curved roof of glass & steel supported by iron columns for the Winter Gardens. Initially, when the People's Palace and Winter Gardens were constructed, these served as museums & meeting spaces for people in the east of Glasgow. The palace encompasses a significant collection of objects, classic artifacts, prints, photographs, and film that offers a unique insight into how the Glaswegians dwelled, played, & worked in the olden ages to the present time. Here, you will learn about the story of the city & its people from 1750 to the late 20th century. Visit this museum to know how Glasgow evolved into a spirited city!
