Salon Saigon is a heritage and contemporary art centre located in District 3 in Ho Chi Minh City. The centre promotes Vietnamese art through exhibitions, educational programs, conferences, screening and performances. Housed within a beautiful French colonial mansion, the gallery mainly focuses on drawn artworks by local and overseas artists and is a must visit for art enthusiasts.
Salon Saigon was the residence of Henry Cabot Lodge, a US ambassador, till 1967. It was then converted into a gallery for promoting the growings arts scene and showcasing contemporary artworks by Vietnamese artists. Salon Saigon hosts a number of events depicting Vietnam's culture throughout the year, acting as a centre for art and cultural activities including art exhibitions, musical events and poetry recitals. A library is also located here which houses a variety of books about the history and culture of the English, French and Vietnamese.
