Kam Shan Country Park, also known as Golden Hill Country Park, lies in the Kowloon region of Hong Kong. Spanning over an area of 3.37 square kilometres, the park is majorly covered with patches of jogging trails, picnic and barbecue areas which attract huge numbers of visitors. The park acquired its name from the Golden Hill, known amongst the locals as Kam Shan, a 369-metre peak which is the salient feature of the park.
Several points along the western ridge of the park offers some flabbergasting panoramic views of areas such as Smugglers Ridge, Tai Mo Shan (the highest peak in Hong Kong), Lion Rock and Beacon Hill. The Kam Shan, commonly referred to as the ‘Monkey Hill’, is home to hundreds of these primates. Apart from these, the Kam Shan Country Park is home to other species and genera of animals as well, including birds and squirrels owing to the lush greenery throughout.
