Alive Museum Ancol, Jakarta Overview

Located within Ancol Beach City, the Alive Museum stores wax sculptures of many notable personalities, from Hollywood to Korean pop singers. Along with sculptures, movie posters are signed by celebrities, musicians, actors, and more. It also has multiple exhibits of 3D objects following several themes, allowing you to take pictures with them and giving off a realistic illusion.

Museums are supposed to be a collection of ancient and traditional objects. However, the Alive Museum in Jakarta is different. This museum displays sculptures and 3D paintings that make interaction with visitors look real. Located within the Ancol Beach City Mall on the 3rd floor, the museum was opened in 2015. The Alive Museum is a wall-art museum, whereas, Alive Star contains the wax statues and sculptures of famous personalities. Situated 20km outside central Jakarta the Alive Museum offers the perfect outing for the whole family.

Things to Do

There is a variety of paintings and 3D art illusion that make the Alive Museum extremely fun and interactive. If one follows the standing and photography points that are marked out, the resultant photographs give a very real impression of the activity. 

There are different zones that the museum is divided into:

The Fantasy Zone contains the 3D art related to fantasy characters that one sees in animation and films. It is perfect for children who enjoy being clicked with their favourite cartoon or fantasy characters.

The Dark Road section is where street paintings with varying themes are on display. The illusion paintings include potholes or bridges that can be photographed with visitors at strategic positions.

The Horror Zone, as the name suggests, has ghost and related 3D paintings. It is good for those who would like to be a part of scary pictures. 

The Extreme Zone has paintings on extreme sporting activities, such as kayaking or gushing down a waterfall.

The Circus Zone has different circus attraction paintings, such as riding a bicycle and so on.

Finally, the Travel Zone is where 3D paintings of many prominent Indonesian monuments and landmarks are found. One can photograph themselves in the background of the iconic Indonesian structures.

Recently, a new zone, called the Alice Tunnel and Alice Room have also been opened up with paintings relating to the movie Alice in Wonderland.

Inside the Alive Museum is also the Illusion Optic Museum which is the first of its kind in Jakarta.

At the Alive Star, you can enjoy the company of wax statues and sculptures of famous Hollywood and Korean artists. Some of the statues include Prince William and Princess Kate, Lee Minho, Michael Jackson, as well as superheroes, such as Ironman and Spiderman.

There is also the Dynamic Maze Museum within the Alive Museum that is used for group indoor games. It is a good place to enjoy team activities along with family and friends.
