At Tin Mosque was built by President Soeharto to honor his late wife Tien Soeharto, forming the origin of the name. Located in the outskirts of Jakarta, this huge mosque can accommodate as many as 9000 people. The visitors can witness the peaceful prayers conducted by the Imam (reader of the namaaz) and the beautiful wedding ceremonies that happen here during weekends.
At Tin Mosque is located in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah in East Jakarta. Its construction started in the year 1997 and it was opened for public in 1999. The mosque is spread over a large area and has beautiful and peaceful gardens where visitors can sit after the prayers. There are rooms that can be booked for wedding ceremonies and the mosque is equipped with all basic facilities like bathrooms and a large parking area. The mosque is generally filled with local people offering prayers while the are also tourists who admire the modern and beautiful architecture of the mosque.
