Jakarta Aquarium & Safari is the largest indoor terrarium in Indonesia with over 3,500 aquatic, terrestrial, reptiles, and amphibian animals residing within the premises. The park is divided into twelve zones. You check out the aquariums, experience sea floor walking and sea diving, explore the deep oceans, interact with the animals and feed them, and indulge in many other comprehensive activities.
The enticing collections of Jakarta Aquarium and Safari include soft and hard corals, sea anemones, and the endemic marine lives of the Islands of Indonesia. Separate zones are there dedicated to the Southern sea and rivers of Indonesia. The Rainforest of Indonesia is the largest segment, with more than a dozen subzones. Visitors can dip their hands in the aquariums at Touch and Find and physically touch small aqua species like spotted sharks, ribbon tail rays, and sea stars.
You can virtually visit the ocean's depths in the Sea Explorer Simulator. It is a 5D theater that takes you on a submarine journey through the underwater world. Also, try out Aquatrekking in the main tank, which almost feels like a real-world seafloor walking experience. Expect encounters with colorful corals, dozens of groupers, and a Black Blotch Stingray underwater. Try out the Underwater Funtasy Diving for a more realistic touch and meet black-tip and white-tip sharks, nurse sharks, sea turtles, stingrays, and many other species.
These are interactive and educational, where you will learn about the animals’ habits, life cycles, everyday routines, and more. Do not miss the fascinating Pearl of the South Sea show, retelling a local lore story of Java. It is an underwater dance performance of a beautiful story of a King and his daughter, the princess who was cursed to be the queen of the sea.
