The Museum MACAN, or the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Nusantara, houses a large collection of modern and contemporary art from Indonesia and around the world. Famous for its active exhibitions, its chief highlight is the stunning masterpieces of Yayoi Kusama, a pioneer in contemporary art.

Museum MACAN also hosts several events and workshops for the modern art community. It also offers resources to teachers and students to initiate a dialogue about art.
Museum MACAN displays over 90 artworks from a collection of 800 modern Indonesian and contemporary works from all over the world. Their exhibits are not limited to paintings alone. Plenty of performance and installation artworks are also on display at the Museum MACAN.
One of the museum’s highlights is the ‘Infinity Mirrored Room’ by the Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama. Some of the other popular collections of paintings housed in the Museum MACAN are China China by Zhu Wei, Wipe Out #1 by FX Harsono, Swallow’s Nest by Yayoi Kusama, Great Criticism: Coca Cola by Wang Guangyi etc.
