Museum Perumusan Naskah Proklamasi, Jakarta Overview
Museum Perumusan Naskah Proklamasi or Formulation of Proclamation Text Museum is the place where the Proclamation of Independence was formed in 1984. This is where the Japanese Navy Commander and supporter of Indonesia freedom Tadashi Maeda worked on the final draft of the proclamation. Today it has wax sculptures of historically important people. Visitors enjoy this museum while listening to old BBC or NIROM broadcasts.
This historic building was transformed into a museum owing to its role in the formulation of the independence proclamation text. It was inaugurated in the year 1992 and has changed many hands since. It is divided into four sections, each of which exhibits artefacts related to the independence proclamation text.
