Sajjeshwara temple, also known as one of the Panchalingam temples in the region, is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is associated with Ravana, who broke the casket of the Atmalinga when he was tricked into placing the lingam on the ground before reaching Lanka. The place where the casket fell is where the temple is believed to be located. The temple is also famous for its tranquil ambience as it is not often crowded and provides an atmosphere to sit in peace and enjoy the silence.
