Getting from Bangkok to Koh Samui by flight is quick and easy. You can take a direct flight from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) and Don Mueang International Airport (DMK) to Koh Samui Airport (USM). Many airlines, like Bangkok Airways and Thai Airways, operate daily flights that take 1 hour and 15 minutes. It's the fastest way to reach Koh Samui but the most expensive method. The prices generally range from approximately 2500 THB to 6000 THB depending upon the airline, time of booking, and availability.

Koh Samui to Koh Phangan by ferry 
Departure Points and Duration
Traveling from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan in Thailand by ferry usually takes 30 minutes to 1 hour. Ferries depart from Bangrak Pier, Mae Nam Pier, and Na Thon Pier and arrive at Thong Sala Pier on Koh Phangan. 

Fares and Operators
The fares are around THB 300 to 1000, depending on the type of ferry you choose. Lomprayah Raja Ferry is one of the standard operators who run regular services on this route.

You can also travel by train. This is a more affordable option than a flight, and it takes around 12-15 hours to reach Surathani. 

Boarding Points and Duration
You can take a train from Bangkok's Hua Lamphong Train Station to Surat Thani, which takes around 11 to 15 hours, depending upon the traffic. Then, hop on a bus to the Don Sak or Bangrak Seatran Pier, which takes about 1 to 2 hours. 

Timings and Fares
Ten trains are daily from Bangkok to Surat Thani, departing between 7 am and run till 10 pm. It's best to take an air-conditioned sleeper train to save on a hotel for the night and have a more comfortable journey. Tickets for the train from Bangkok to Surat Thani cost around 220-700THB depending upon the type of seats and class service.

Ferry from Surathani to Koh Phangan 
After reaching Surathani train station, you can take public transportation to the ferry Donsak pier, where the ferries depart for Koh Phangan.

Ferries usually depart from Donsak Pier, Surathani Night Peir, and reach Thong Sala Pier on Koh Phangan. The duration in generally 2 hours to 7 hours, depending upon the operators you choose

Fares and Timings
The fares usually range from 700 to 1000THB depending on the type of ferry and the operators you choose. The first ferry from Donsak Pier to Koh Phanghan runs at 5 am, and the last (apart from the night ferry) runs at 6 pm. The night ferries start at 10 pm.

Many tour operators have different boarding points where you can take a bus from the Southern bus terminal and the Khao San Lomprayah office, Bangkok's two most popular points. The bus will take you directly to Donsak Pier in Surathani, where you can catch the ferry to Koh Phangan.

Duration and Timings 
The journey usually takes around 12-16 hours to reach Koh Phangan, where the bus from Bangkok takes around 8-10 hours and 2-7 hours in ferry transfers, depending upon transportation schedules.

Ferry from Surathani to Koh Phangan 

When you take a combination bus+ferry option, the operators usually drop you off at the ferry station in Surathani, where you are transferred to the ferry to Koh Phangan.
