Things to Do at Poring Hot Springs

Canopy Walk
The Poring Canopy Walk offers a chance to have a thrilling bird’s eye view of the entire springs complex from a height of 30 metres. It consists of a series of walkways suspended from trees in a circular shape. 

Trekking
Visitors can opt to undertake an unguided trek through the forest complex all the way to the waterfalls- Kipungit and Langanan.

Butterfly Park 
The park complex also houses a beautiful butterfly park, located en route to the canopy walk. 

Orchid Park
Another attraction for overs of flora and fauna is the orchid garden within the park, home to a wide variety of orchids and also certain kinds of animals. The forest also has activities like bird watching that are highly enjoyable.

How to Reach

Located far east of Ranau in the state of Sabah, travellers can reach the Poring Hot Springs by bus from Kinabalu Park that only makes one trip daily, or by a cab. The site is also accessible to those who wish to be self-driving from Ranau, with clearly marked roads and adequate parking.

Need to Know

  • The Poring Hot Springs are most often visited after a hiking trip on Mount Kinabalu, instead of making a full trip just for the hot springs. 
  • The springs complex does not have any places to eat/drink, so it is advisable to bring food. 
  • For a satisfying trip to Poring Hot Springs, it is recommended to bring some vital things such as rubber sandals/slippers, change of clothes, towel, and swimwear.
