"Archaeological Heart of Rhodes"

Lindos Tourism

The small fishing village of Lindos is located on the east coast of Rhodes Island and is popular as an archaeological site that is known as Lindos Acropolis. Its proximity to Rhodes makes it a popular day trip either from Rhodes town or Faliraki. A perfect blend of history and beaches like St. Paul's Bay and Lindos Main Beach, this village boasts small white-washed houses and 16th-century captain houses.

The cobbled streets of Lindos are pedestrianised, and the commute can be done through donkeys and mopeds. Exploring the Acropolis, getting lost in the cobweb of cobbled streets and exploring the village's backstreets are some of the best activities to partake in. Lindos boasts several roof gardens where one can witness sunset while taking a break or having dinner.

Must Know Before You Travel to Lindos

  • Day Trip from Rhodes: Take a bus from Rhodes city, 56 km away, costing EUR 5.50 one-way. Alternatively, travel by boat from Mandraki harbour. Parking is available outside the city, with both free and paid spaces near the large supermarket parking area.
  • Frequent bus service connects Lindos to Rhodes, Faliraki, Afandou, and Kalathos. A coastal bus service by the name of RODO runs around Rhodes.

  • All the attractions, including beaches and the Acropolis, are within walking distance of the center.
  • Start your hike to the Acropolis Monument complex early and buy an online ticket to skip the queue to save time. These tickets are booked for a specific time slot to be selected while booking tickets. Similar tickets with audio guides are available online for EUR 22.
  • Carry a good pair of walking shoes as a lot of walking is involved in Lindos Itinerary.

  • Shops operate between 10:00 to 12:00 AM. Restaurants and cafes open from around 7:00 AM to close by 12:00 AM. Nightclubs open around 6:00 PM to stay open till the early hours.
