Los Angeles State Historic Park is located in the Chinatown area of Los Angeles. The park was amongst the last few habitats of the Tongva Native Americans. It was then developed into the rail yard before finally being converted into the state park. The park, which was established in 2001, is still being developed. The park has 13 acres opened to the public, and a total of 32 acres being developed as part of the project.
The park is popular amongst tourists and locals. Kiting enthusiasts enjoy the open lawns and the calm surroundings, which make it ideal for an evening of kite flying. The park is also a great place to relax and unwind, thanks to its peace and quiet. Visitors also get a great view of the Downtown Los Angeles skyline. The park is also home to multiple installations of public art. ‘A Park is Made by the People’ is a popular installation depicting the struggles faced by the local community to build the park. Other installations include the ‘Psychic Body Grotto’ and ‘Origins’. The park is also home to a mile long trail which is frequented by joggers.
