La Malagueta

Beaches are always an amazing option to visit, the nearest beach to the city being La Malagueta. It is perfect for sunbathing or taking a long walk along the shore. Located between Puerto de Malaga and Playa de La Caleta, this beach gets its name due to its neighborhood.

Malaga is blessed with a long coastline with numerous beaches to attract the tourists. La Malagueta beach is the nearest one to the centre of the city and is a popular destination both among locals as well as tourists. About 60 metres wide and 2,500 metres long, people come here to sunbathe or to swim. This is an artificial beach made with the sand brought from the Sahara dessert, but it is an amazing place to relax and explore the cuisine of Malaga. In the summers, there are rental services available for parasols and hammocks, along with water sports like pedalos. One can also get a view of fishermen untangling their nets from the fishing area. There are a lot of tapas and small restaurants that offer brilliant food. There are also other beaches towards the eastern side.
