In the centre of town, in an 18th-century building, lies the Malaga museum of glass and crystal. Aside from paintings, furniture, and decorative items, there are also representations of sculptures and musical instruments. These represent a historical period, culture, and environment.
The museum allows visitors to experience the realistic domestic context that was lived in by the house's first owners. This 18th-century building is of particular significance among the only buildings preserved in Malaga belonging to the middle class. Various collections have been gathered at the museum over the years. A variety of historical eras are represented on the two floors of the building. On the ground floor, visitors can view English pre-Raphaelite stained glass windows. The first floor exhibits a variety of ancient civilizations, including Egyptian, Phoenician, Greek, Roman, Islamic, and Byzantine. The splendid Phoenician pieces are brightly colored and stunningly beautiful. A range of Catalan, Dutch, Bohemian, and Venetian lead glass is featured in the 16th and 17th centuries; a display of La Granja glass graces the 18th century; English cameo glass is displayed in the 19th century, and a display of Lalique and Whitefriars items is presented in the 20th century. Antique furniture has outstanding examples of very different origins. Lamps, mirrors, carpets, and tapestries, all with a long history, provide the finishing touch for each room.
