The Upper Barrakka Gardens is a public garden situated on the right of Castille, behind the Malta Stock Exchange building in the capital city of Valletta in Malta. It offers a picturesque view of the Grand Harbour and is one of the leading attractions in the city.
Upper Barrakka Gardens rests on the highest point of the city walls of eastern Valletta, where you can enjoy unparalleled views across the Grand Harbour & the low-lying areas of the city. Photography is a popular activity in this garden with a cafe. Besides, there are memorials of several notable people located in the gardens, including Sir Thomas Maitland, Sir Winston Churchill, and Gerald Strickland. Alongside these, a replica of Les Gavroches (the Street Boys) statue by the Maltese sculptor Antonio Sciortino is there. Also, the Upper Barrakka Lift is a remarkable attraction within the gardens, which connects the Grand Harbour to the Upper Barrakka Gardens and the Valletta city center.
