Shwe Gu Ni Pagoda, Monywa Overview
Shwe Gu Ni Pagoda is a Buddhist temple located close to the city of Monywa in Myanmar. It houses the large image of seated Buddha in gold and is one of the famous landmarks for tourists and a place of pilgrims for the locals. The 14th-century temple is the venue for Shwe Gu Ni festival, which happens in May every year when thousands of locals offer gold leaf to the Buddha.
