Jwala Devi Temple, Mussoorie Overview

Jwala Devi Temple, also popularly known as the Jwala Ji Temple, is a temple perched atop the Benog Hill in Mussoorie dedicated to Goddess Durga. It is believed that one who visits this temple is resurrected from the sufferings of life and is bestowed with sacredness. Apart from pilgrims, nature lovers also visit the place to admire the thick green forest around the temple as well as the Yamuna River and Shivalik range.

Jwala Devi temple houses an old stone idol of Goddess Durga. The temple stands at an altitude of 2104 metres, and one has to trek for about 2 kilometers uphill to reach the temple. The path starts from Cloud's End and passes through thick vegetation of line and deodar trees. The trek offers some panoramic views of the Shivalik ranges, Doon Valley as well as Yamuna River.
