Among the largest museums of its kind, the American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) started its journey on 6th April 1869 and is open from 10 AM till 5:30 PM from Monday to Sunday
Located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, the museum has food court, cafes, drinking fountains, restrooms, Cosmic Shop, Planetarium Shop, Dino Store, exhibition shops and main museum shop along with theatres, interactive touchable exhibits, Discovery Room, educational laboratories, Scales of the Universe, Ross Hall of Meteorites and Gottesman Hall of Planet Earth. The general admission costs USD 23 (adult), USD 13 (kid 3-12) and USD 18 for senior and student. The permanent exhibitions include Biodiversity and Environmental, Birds, Reptiles and Amphibians, Earth and Planetary Sciences, Fossil, Grand Gallery, Human Origins and Cultural, Mammal, Ross Center for Earth and Space and Theodore Roosevelt Memorial. Apart from the educational programs and research activities for all age-groups, there is a research library with vertical files, moving image collection, art, memorabilia and archives.
