A U.S National Historic Landmark and a New York City Landmark, the Grand Central Terminal features beaux-arts architectural style.
Designed by Reed and Stem, this commuter rail station of Midtown Manhattan was opened to the public on 2nd February in 1913. With local names like GCT, the Terminal and Grand Central it not only serves as a railroad and subway station but also dining and retail destination with 35 eateries and 60 shops. One of the main attractions of the terminal is the 4-faced opal clock hung above the information booth and the cathedral-like zodiac ceiling of Main Concourse featuring twelve gold-leaf patterned constellations and 2500 stars including 59 LED-illuminated ones. Enjoy whispering into opposite corners at the Whispering Gallery and then enjoy oysters and clam chowder with wine at the century-old Oyster Bar. The European-style market with gourmet, treats and fresh produce is worth a visit. Art gallery, ski slope and tennis courts at Vanderbilt Tennis Club will keep you entertained. Other attractions include Campbell Bar and Great Northern Food Hall.
