Established in 1974 by Cornell Capa, the International Center of Photography (ICP) in Manhattan’s Lower East Side celebrates visual culture and photography as the leading institution of the world. Open from Thursday till Sunday except on Independence Day, Christmas Eve, Thanksgiving Day and New Year’s Eve, from 11 AM to 7 PM, the museum has a photography gallery, school, library, shop and a reading room. Free for ICP students and members and visitors aged 16 and below, the museum entry fee is USD 16 for adults, USD 3 for SNAP/EBT holders and USD 12 for students with ID, guests with disabilities (free for caregivers), military and seniors aged 62 and above.
The Education Office is open from 9 AM till 5 PM from Monday till Friday while the shop consisting of comprehensive photography books, apparel and curated objects is open from Thursday till Sunday from 11 AM to 7 PM. Visit the library that has over twenty thousand books, periodicals and artist files. Explore over 54,000 photographs, publications, print media, audio and video etc from genres such as architecture, documentary, fashion, nature and so on from before 1900 till date sourced from all continents. Regular exhibitions, educational programs for every level, workshops and certified programs are also held.
