The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir is a reservoir in Central Park, in the Manhattan borough of New York. It extends from 86th to 96th Streets and covers 106 acres. It is also known as the Central Park Reservoir.
One can take a walk or go biking on the 1.58 miles long gravel path that surrounds the reservoir. Many animals like loons, ducks, and egrets can be seen floating in the reservoir. You can also do bird watching here. This New York reservoir is famous for its cherry blossom trees. There are about 200 Yoshino cherry trees on the east side of the Reservoir, while the west side has Kwanzan cherry blossom trees.
On the Eastside at 96th street near the reservoir is the Margaret L. Kempner Playground which has many swings, climbers, and water spray fountains for children.
