The New Museum of Contemporary Art on the Lower East Side of Manhattan was founded in 1977 and has around a thousand collections of various media.
Open from Wednesday through Sunday from 12 noon till 6 PM, except on Thursday till 9 PM, the museum offers docent-led tours of 45 minutes along with self-guided and guided tours to know about the current exhibition highlights, architecture and history of the museum. The admission fee is USD 18 for adults, USD 15 for seniors and visitors with disability, USD 12 for students and free of cost for care partners of the disabled visitors, visitors aged below 18 while those aged 14 and below need to be accompanied by adults. This seven-storied and eight leveled structure is home to artworks from various lesser-known artists like William Kentridge, Ana Mendieta, Andrea Zittel and David Wojnarowicz. While mounting ambitious surveys of the under-recognized personalities it organizes exhibitions like the Triennial and Surround Audience.
