Known for its rich mining history, Sungai Lembing is a town situated 42 kilometers northwest of Kuantan district in Pahang. Being a major producer of underground tin until the 1860s, the town has several attractions that speak of its history including the biggest underground mine in the world!
In Malay, 'Sungai' means river and 'Lembing' means spear. To explore the inner village, renting an ATV or a bicycle would be a fun activity. Crossing the suspension bridges in Sungai Lembing (preferably the oldest one) is also quite an experience.
There are not many fancy shopping malls or high-end hotels here. However, Sungai Lembing promises some very exciting tourist spots set amidst nature like the Mount Tapis Nature Park and the very popular Sungai Pandan Waterfall.
