Located 10 km off the East Coast of Phuket, Khai Islands comprises three smaller islands, namely, Koh Khai Nai, Khai Nai Island and Koh Khai Nok. Khai Nok Island, an egg-shaped, is known for its tranquil white sand beach and the clear blue water. One can spot several species of tropical fish here and even feed them which is a popular activity among kids.
Khai Nai Island is the biggest of all the three and offers a spectacular view with its white sand beach and green water, fit for snorkeling and swimming. Khai Nui Island, the smallest of the three islands is known for its magnificent coral reefs and ideal snorkeling conditions. Koh Khai Nok, although a small island compared to the others, boasts of a decent array of restaurants and kiosks that sell souvenirs such as sarongs, t-shirts and handicrafts. Don’t forget to pick up a few while you visit the bazaar. Khai islands are a hidden gem which have become a popular tourist attraction in recent years, courtesy, the internet.
The sun might feel harsh on the body, especially in the summer. Therefore, make sure you apply and carry enough sunscreen while going to the beach.
Refrain from going on a speed boat ride if you have a back, spinal or neck problem.
During peak season, the beaches get crowded and you might not find a good spot to lay your towel and sunbathe. Do not buy/rent snorkeling gear from your taxi-driver because these might not be standardized and safe.
