I´ve been there twice. Prashanti Nilayam is really the Abode of Supreme Peace. It is like a small spiritual town, with everything you need to be comfortable in a spiritual atmosphere.

We have visited this town every 2-3 years for over a decade. It?s always been quaint and homely. The main attraction is Prashanti Nilayam, the ashram of Sathya Sai Baba. It boasts of large gardens an (Read More)d a calming atmosphere, with a large darshan hall, temples, accommodation, cafes, and even a shopping mall inside. Although the primary spoken languages are Telegu and Hindi, the large population of foreign nationals living near and around the ashram has made English quite common, and multiple cuisines such as German, Korean, and Mexican food can be found in specific restaurants. Puttaparthi is easily accessible by car or bus. We typically drive from Bangalore to Puttaparthi in around three hours, and the roads are quite wide and well-maintained.
