Prem Mandir, also known as the Sacred Heart Cathedral, is a Syro-Malabar Catholic church located in Rajkot and is a unique religious and architectural landmark. Dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the cathedral was designed by Ashwinbhai Sanghvi with intricate glasswork by Balan, combining traditional Indian temple and mosque styles.
Its five domes symbolize different religions, with the main dome featuring an oriental-style cross on a lotus flower and a mosaic of Jesus seated above the lotus. Prem Mandir stands out for incorporating Indian cultural elements, including 'Aarti,' an Indian form of worship, and reflects the harmony of multiple faiths through its architectural symbolism.
