Rotary Dolls Museum, Rajkot Overview

The Rotary Dolls Museum in Rajkot, Gujarat, is a unique attraction showcasing a diverse collection of over 1,600 dolls from more than 100 countries. Established in 2001, the museum highlights global cultures and traditions through intricately designed dolls dressed in traditional attire. It features themed displays, including sections on Indian weddings, festivals, and international customs. Equipped with an audio-visual tour and an interactive setup, the museum offers an educational and engaging experience for visitors of all ages.

There are more than 1600 dolls in Rotary Dolls Museum wearing apparel representing over 102 countries, their cultures and traditions. The dolls have been donated to the museum by various rotary clubs throughout the world. The Rotary Dolls Museum also maintains brief records of history about the dolls for knowledge as well as entertainment. Rotary Dolls Museum also showcases a Cinematheque which plays movies and documentaries created by Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, Britannica and many more.  Some other exhibits include Rocking Zebra, Mobile toy van and FLLC.

Exhibition at the Museum

Rotary Dolls Museum features a large array of dolls portraying traditional folk dance like dandiya and bhangra. Highlights of the museum range from blue-eyed American Barbie to Indian Laila with dark eyes and Santa Claus Dolls to Einstein Dolls. The museum also exhibits husk dolls, glove puppets, string puppets and designer dolls. Rotary Dolls Museum also displays information about the country, its national anthem, history and culture from where the doll has been brought. The museum also sports a library and a gift shop so that the tourists can have a souvenir from their trip.

History of Rotary Dolls Museum

Mr Deepak Agarwal is the man behind the idea of the Rotary Dolls Museum. He is an honoured Rotarian with the goal of binding different cultures, spreading happiness and of course, making new friends. The idea of building a fun and informative doll museum appropriate for all age groups was first conceived in 2001. After a lot of hard work, Rotary Dolls Museum was finally inaugurated on 24th July 2004.

1. Do not visit the museum from 1 PM to 3:30 PM as it is closed during that time.
2. Eatables, snacks are not allowed inside the museum.
3. Clicking photos without permission is not allowed.
