About Ranthambore Tourism: When thinking of tiger watching in India, Ranthambore is one of the first places that pops into mind. Located in Rajasthan, it is one of India’s biggest and most famous tiger reserves, home to diverse flora and fauna, including over 70 tigers. It is an excellent destination for nature lovers to spend some time in. Holidify offers several wonderful Ranthambore tour packages!

Ranthambore is situated in the Vindhya and Aravali Hills foothills and is most famous for its tiger safaris. Opting for a Jeep (6 seater) or Canter (20 seater) safari is an excellent way to explore the reserve. These safaris are available from 1 October to 30 June and usually last about 3 hours so you can spot tigers as well as other animals and birds.

Ranthambore National Park is divided into 10 zones; there are separate safaris to explore each of these. Zone 1 to 5 are considered best for spotting tigers since Zone 2 has water holes where animals tend to gather more. Zone 6 to 10 are good for tiger spotting and bird watching. These safaris begin at 7:00 am and end at 5:30 pm during wintertime and from 6:00 am to 6:30 pm during summertime.

When you travel to Ranthambore, you must see the Ranthambore Fort. Located inside Ranthambore, it dates back to the 12th century and is set amidst dense forests. Another attraction here is Padam Lake, where you can spot numerous animals, including Chinkaras, especially in the mornings. Do head over to Kachida Valley on the periphery of Ranthambore National Park; it is known for its panther population.

Plan your trip to Ranthambore between October and March; the weather is pleasant, and most animals come out in the open. About 1-3 days are enough to explore Ranthambore. There are hotels, heritage havelis and resorts where you can find accommodation. Moreover, Ranthambore travel packages also include nearby destinations like Jaipur, Udaipur and Mount Abu.

Jaipur, the state’s capital, is a must-visit because of its red-pink sandstone buildings. Amer Fort, Nahargarh Fort, City Palace and of course, Hawa Mahal should undoubtedly be on your itinerary. Galtaji Temple, surrounded by imposing hills, is a beautiful sight, as is the partially submerged Jal Mahal.

Udaipur, the “City of Lakes,” is renowned for its picturesque lakes like Lake Pichola, Jaisamand Lake and Fateh Sagar Lake. You must also visit City Palace, Saheliyon ki Bari and Eklingji Temple. Mount Abu is visited for the serene Nakki Lake, Toad Rock which is great for a short trek and Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary. Hike up to Sunset Point for marvellous views of the setting sun!
