The Icelandic Punk Museum is one of the quirkiest yet tourist-loved museums in Reykjavik. The museum displays the country's punk music and cultural history. In addition, the museum captures the essence of a punk wave that swept over Iceland near the 1980s.
The museum does not have an allocated space but is inside a public toilet. The creators remodelled an underground public toilet in the city to serve as a display museum. Even in the limited space, the creators managed to add everything from the history of punk music to the present interest. Being music and culture-centric place, it appeals to younger crowds who appreciate punk music. It is unique since it showcases a more recent history, unlike most other museums. The museum features vintage albums and merchandise which the visitors can know about. It also has some interactive equipment for the visitors to try out.
