Agrodome, Rotorua Overview
The Agrodome in Rotorua, located about 10 km from the city center, is a popular agricultural attraction offering interactive farm experiences. Visitors can enjoy the Farm Show, featuring live sheep-shearing and sheepdog demonstrations, and explore the working farm on a guided tractor tour. Established in 1971, it provides hands-on activities like feeding farm animals and learning about New Zealand’s farming heritage.
You are also encouraged to feed the farm animals while on your tour and gift yourself raw, right out of nursery Kiwifruit and honey from the lands. There is a separate wing of the Woollen Mill and Shearing museum where some of their experienced guides will let you in about the pioneering work of the Bowen Brothers and learn about Sheep rearing and extraction of wool. You can click photographs of the lush green pastures and wagons being pulled by some of the most beautiful Clydesdale horses.

What to Carry
- Monsoons here is unpredictable so you may wanna carry umbrellas.
- Water during the tour. The tour can take a while and you may need to do a lot of strolling so you have to keep yourself hydrated.
- Day times could get warm here irrespective of the months it is advisable for you to carry sunscreen lotions.
- Carry hydrated packs.
- Wear strong hard boots.
- Wear sunglasses.
- Carry a camera to photographs whatever catches your fancy.
