The trick fountains of Hellbrunn Palace, known as Wasserspiele Hellbrunn, have charmed visitors for the past 400 years. Salzburg’s Prince-Archbishop Markus Sittikus, along with the help of architect Santino Solari, created one of the most beautiful late Renaissance palaces in the Alps region. Water flowing down from the Hellbrunn Mountain was used to build an intricate system of water fountains, automats and grottos. These fountains became the prominent design feature of the Hellbrunn Palace grounds as the captivating designs, and hidden water jets stunned all visitors. Built by Lorenz Rosenegger in 1750, a Baroque-style water-driven mechanical theatre with 163 tiny figurines is one of the main attractions at Wasserspiele Hellbrunn. Visitors also like to roam around the Palace Grounds and explore the Folklore Museum.
