Burnt Rancheria Campground is one of Southern California’s most picturesque grounds with campfire rings, tables and creative entertainment options. There are several scenic loops along the Laguna Mountain Recreation area, perfect for picnics and hikes. With pines and oaks flanking the wooded property, this campground overlooks a spectacular desert and the Pacific Crest Trail.
One of the most exciting activities arranged here are “star parties” where you can enjoy stargazing while sipping sundowners. These gatherings are organised by San Diego State University Observatory in summer programs at Burnt Rancheria Campground. The shady open oak grove near the campgrounds are great for picnicking out in the open or in your lavish RV. Experienced pros at the camps offer guided hikes and horseback riding arrangements for exploring the forest with Salton Sea in the backdrop. The trail ends at numerous waterfalls with narrow canyon formations surrounding them. You can find picture-perfect spots along the forest and Rancheria Creek, which requires some boulder-hopping on your hike. You can buy firewood from the campground host and build a cozy bonfire next to your tent. Apart from enjoying sumptuous barbecues, you can purchase local delights at the snack stalls at the entrance of Burnt Rancheria Campground.
