Torrey Pines State Beach

La Jolla, San Diego, has a long stretch of beaches from Boomer beach down south to Torrey Pines State Beach up north that’s part of the beautiful Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve Park. The famous Torrey Pines Golf Course is located within the premises and can be visited first before making your way down to the serene beach.

Apart from the beach, you have various options to indulge yourself in a day of adventure. There are plenty of hiking trails within the reserve park that provide a stellar view of the beach as you walk along. Guided tours are also available for free on Saturdays and Sundays for those who wish to venture deep into the park. This also gives you an opportunity to spot Dolphins and Whales that are frequently seen here. Hang gliding from the top of the cliff is an option available for the adventure junkies as you get a different perspective of the beach and the people sunbathing on the shores. 

To get to the beach, you can drive up the historic highway 101 to reach the north part of the beach that runs adjacent to the highway. This allows for a quick stop as you drive by with free parking available right along the side of the highway.
