- Most of the eateries shut down early (9 P.M.) An umbrella is a necessity while packing your bags.

I visited Shillong during the month of August, and it was absolutely beautiful. For a person who adores nature, I had a brilliant time walking alongside hills and pine trees. But let me warn you, alw (Read More)ays carry an umbrella! If you are into hiking, visit the beautiful living root bridges. My heart was beating a thousand miles per hour through that experience, but it was worth every second. The beautiful capital of Meghalaya, it?s too easy to fall in love with this state!

We have visited Shillong and Cherrapunjee during end of June . We stay 2 days over there . Both Places are nice . We found a genuine gentleman namely Dipak Pal +91 8414055529 who drives a black-yello (Read More)w taxi. For local sight seeing, such as visiting Shillong peak, Elephant falls, Museum, Hyderi Park, Church, Ramkrishna Mission, Golf Course etc. we paid Rs. 2000 only. This taxi driver Dipak Pal took us to Cherrapunjee for Rs. 2000. He acted as reliable guide for us. On the way, he stopped at Mawdok bridge, Nohkalikai falls and Ramkrishna Mission.

My road trip to Shillong was an enthralling venture. The humongous, water dripping hills complimented the sleek, curvy roads. The view of Umiam Lake from the Borapani Bridge gave me chills. The weath (Read More)er of Shillong is very calm. Police Bazaar and Bara Bazaar, are the heart of this hill station, and are the busiest with lots of artifact shops and restaurants. The hotels are very affordable and comfy. There are even youth hostels for group travelers. The Don Bosco Museum, All Saint?s Cathedral and the Elephant Falls are my personal recommendations for those who are planning to visit Shillong and enjoy a fresh retreat from the smoke and noise of cities.
