National Art Gallery , Siena Overview

The National Art Gallery of Siena is located in Palazzo Buonsignori. It is the most significant state museum of the City of Palio. One can come across an array of remarkable artistic works and illustrations and works of Siena’s paintings from the 13th to the 18th century.

Abbots Giuseppe Ciaccheri and Luigi de Angelis, two learned Sienese, were the initial driving forces for the gallery. The various artworks not just showcase artistic expression but at the same time, they reflect the deep-rooted history behind those artworks. 
At the top level, the Spannocchi collection is placed. The most portrayed artists in this gallery are Domenico Beccafumi and Dietisalvi di Speme. The "Polittico n. 28" by Duccio di Boninsegna, the "Madonna dell'Umiltà" by Giovanni di Paolo, the "Annunciazione" by Ambrogio Lorenzetti, the "Pala del Carmine" by Pietro Lorenzetti, and the Spannocchi-Piccolomini collections are dislayed on the third floor of the Gallery. Another speciality of this art gallery is the peruse paintings and sculptures from the late Middle Ages through the Renaissance are found here. Hence, these vivid and innovative artworks at the art gallery captivate many tourists thus making it one of the most interesting places to visit.
