Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary, Vadodara Overview

Jambughoda Wildlife Sanctuary, established in May 1990, spans approximately 130.38 square kilometers in the Panchmahal district of Central Gujarat, India. Located about 70 km from Vadodara and 20 km from Champaner, the sanctuary is characterized by its forested hills and diverse wildlife. The terrain is covered with teak, mahua, and bamboo thickets, providing habitat for species such as wild boars, nilgais (blue bulls), jackals, hyenas, barking deer, sloth bears, chausinghas (four-horned antelopes), and leopards.

Two reservoirs, Kada and Targol, enhance the sanctuary's ecological diversity and aesthetic appeal. Visitors can explore the sanctuary daily from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, with an entry fee of Rs 50 per person. The best time to visit is between October and May, when the weather is favorable for wildlife sightings and outdoor activities. Accommodations are available at the forest rest house near the Kada reservoir, offering a serene retreat amidst nature.
