The Serranos Towers (Torres de Serranos) are a significant historical monument, located on the northeastern edge of Valencia's old town, near the former Turia River bed. Among the best-preserved monuments in Valencia, the towers rewards visitors with magnificent vistas of Valencia's old town and the Turia Gardens. It plays a central role in the celebrations of the annual Las Fallas festival, which is a must experience.
Constructed between 1392 and 1398 under the direction of architect Pere Balaguer, these Gothic-style towers once served as a primary gateway through the medieval city walls, known as the Christian Wall (Muralla Cristiana). Strategically located on the northeastern edge of Valencia's old town, near the former Turia River bed, the towers provided a main entrance from the region of Els Serrans, which influenced their name.
