Jardín del Turia

Turia Gardens, Valencia Overview

Once the riverbed of the Turia River, Turia Gardens are expansive green space created after a catastrophic flood in 1957 led to the river's diversion. Today, the gardens stretch over 9 kilometers, making them one of Spain's largest urban parks. Apart from several museums, concert halls, and sculptures, the gardens boast a diverse array of flora, shaded pathways, dedicated lanes for cycling, running, playgrounds, sports facilities and fountains.

The gardens meander through the city, connecting landmarks such as the Bioparc at the western end and the City of Arts and Sciences to the east. Several kiosks and cafes are located within the park, but consider bringing water and snacks, especially during peak hours.
