Chumbe Island Coral Park, located 8 km west of Unguja in Zanzibar, is a protected island dedicated to marine, forest, and wildlife conservation for over 20 years. It's famous for its amazing coral reef, making it a top spot for snorkelling in East Africa with diverse marine life. Day trips offer chances to see unique wildlife and enjoy activities like Forest Walks and Birding.
Beyond the marine wonders, the island is a haven for rare species like Ader's Duikers, Coconut Crabs, and Roseate Terns. The island has a private beach and historical landmarks, including a small mosque and the Chumbe Lighthouse. The park's commitment to sustainability is seen in its eco-bungalows, powered by solar energy and built with renewable materials. Visitors directly support conservation and education programs for local communities. Additionally, a Local Artisan Boutique is showcasing local crafts.
