Kedah is a state located on the North-West Coast of Malaysia. Kedah consists of two parts: mainland Kedah and Langkawi. Langkawi, being an island, is the major tourist attraction of Kedah State. It is a perfect place to spend a weekend rejuvenating by clear waters. World’s longest Tree Top walk of Sungai Sedim is also located in Kedah and is an ideal getaway for adventurers and nature lovers.
Alor Setar is the capital of Kedah and is home to one of the world’s longest telecommunication towers - Alor Setar Tower - which stands 166m high. Pekan Rabu located in Alor Setar is well-known for its Wednesday markets and shopping. Tree Top Sungai Sedim makes for an adventurous visit. It is the world's longest tree top walk covering a distance of 925m. Pedu Lake, Bujang Valley Archaeological museum ,Wat Nikrodharam Temple, Zahir mosque and Bukit Hijau Waterfalls are worth visiting.
The most famous tourist attraction of Kedah State is Langkawi which is located in the archipelago of ninety nine islands. It is a perfect island-destination to spend a day by the clear blue water and long palm trees. Another major tourist destination is that of Gunung Raya which is the highest mountain in Langkawi with a height of 881m. Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls and Crocodile Adventureland are among adventurous places to visit.
The Underwater World at Langkawi is a must see with a mesmerising view of the underwater world. Another hotspot among the tourists and locals is the Oriental Village which is famed for its very popular sky bridge and cable car. The cable car connects Oriental Village to the second highest mountain of Langkawi, Mount Mat Chinchang. Langkawi Sky Bridge gives a panoramic view of Malaysia. Among other places that you can visit are Eagle Square, Laman Padi Rice Garden, Galeria Perdana and WildLife Park.
