Itinerary
On this full-day tour of Islamic Istanbul learn how Islam spread throughout the city with the rise of the Ottoman Empire. Start out at Topkapi Palace, home to the Ottoman sultans from the 15th-19th centuries. The palace houses the jewels of the Imperial Treasury and relics of the Prophet Mohammed. See the Sultanahmet Imperial Mosque, dating from the 16th century. It is also known as the Blue Mosque due to the blue Iznik tiles that cover its interior.
