Itinerary
Begin with a hotel pickup and climb aboard a bus to discover Istanbul's Golden Horn, the arm of the Bosphorus and a natural harbor of the historical peninsula. See parts of İstanbul where the first colonies settled during the Byzantine era. Drive along the traces of history at Balat viewing the Metal Church of St. Stephen, the Jewish Hospital (Or-Ahayim), Fener Orthodox Patriarchate, and 22 kilometers of Byzantine City Walls, the strongest fortification of the Middle Ages. Stop at the Spice Bazaar to take in the mystical smells of various spices. Shops for fruits, vegetables, fish, and flowers. Then, embark on a Bosphorus Cruise through the waterway separating the 2 continents, Europe and Asia. Take photographs of marble palaces, ancient wooden villas of Ottoman architecture, and luxurious modern apartments.
