Itinerary

Only an hour’s ferry ride from the city center, the Princes’ Islands consist of 9 small islands that will transport you back in time and away from hectic city life. Spend a day exploring Büyükada, to gain insight into a multicultural society in modern Turkey, akin to the multicultural society that existed here during the Ottoman Empire. Start with a cruise over the Marmara Sea to the largest island, Büyükada, and have lunch. Spend the afternoon enjoying the cheerful local life near the village square. Admire the well-preserved Victorian-era cottages that are covered in colorful flowers all summer.

We had 2 hours to see the Prigipo island and only 40 minutes for Halki. We didn’t have much time to see whatever we want. Also in islands we haven’t got guided tour. They just told us where the center (Read More) is. Really not value for money.

The visit of the islands was good but not as planned. Luckily the guide was flexible.....The horse carriage was not available anymore as it's by law forbidden now...(please adjust the site)....Instead (Read More) of the carriage we would get a tour with some electrical vehicle....but our group did not fit in it.....So instead our guide agreed with some proposition of us to use a kind of electrical bycicle with driver in groups of 2.....to discover the neighborhood. Later on we could also discover the island with some electrical vehicle. We got also some private time on the Island. Our guide was friendly and helped with everything. The islands are for sure worth seeing....beautiful sights and views....

The trip instead of the stated seven hours took six. The group gathered for an hour (from the pine forest), but no one compensated for the lost time. On the contrary, the stay on one of the lines was (Read More)reduced in order to get out of the schedule. On one of the islands, payment for a bus and excursions around the island is possible only with a special card. It is wise to let us know in advance so as not to look for a place and not waste time on the island. I must pay tribute to the quite tasty lunch on board.

The transfer was well organized, the excursion also, we went around the first island and then took the boat back to the second island, much larger. We are restored with a choice of either fish or meat (Read More) accompanied by rice and salad

The tour guide was great very knowledgeable, accommodating to our request and flexible. The island was great, a lot of iconic place to take a picture - the only downsize was the weather, it was rainin (Read More)g so we weren't able to maximize the site seeing.

The things that were not up to the mark 1) the time we spent on the islands was not at all enough. We went around the islands using electrical vehicles. Did not stop by or enter things of historical v (Read More)alue. Not enough time to explore the big island parks, beaches & other areas of interest on feet or using bikes. 2) The lunch was very basic & could have been better.
