Itinerary
After the pick up from your hotel the tour will start with a shopping for breakfast at a local market near the Spice bazaar at a dairy store. Your local food expert will do the shopping for you and you will enjoy a traditional Turkish breakfast at a local cafe. There will be variety of cheeses, olives, hazelnut paste, pistachio paste, the mouth watering buffalo cream work honey on top, Menemen, Simit bread and cay tea. A visit to Ortaköy Mosque where you can get some great views of the Bosporus Straight and the first bridge built on the Bosporus straight in 70s for the first time. Visit Camlica Mosque which is one of the biggest in the world with sixty thousand people capacity located in the highest hill of Istanbul and enjoy the breath taking view. It is time to eat again!! :) Drive a little further to Kadıköy Food Market and sample some local street food as pastrami ( sun dried beef), pickled vegetables, olives, Halva, Tulum the goat cheeses fermented in the goat skin for two years, Tantuni, diced beef or chicken wrap in the lavash bread with onion, parsley and tomatoes with yoghurt, garlic and sumac sauce. Continue with the Lahmacun, a delicious middle east style pizza with minced lamb, onion, tomatoes, red paprika serve with fresh parsley and lemon. Little bit further we will taste the mussels cooked with rice in the shell with spices. Follow to taste the famous İskender kebap at the restaurant run by the fourth generation of the people who invented. Conclude the tour with mouth watering Künefe dessert made from the Angel hair noddles stuffed with cheese, pistachios and honey syrup accompanied by Turkish ice cream ( Dondurma) made from goats milk, the roots of the mountain orchids flowers. Your guide will drop you off at your hotel with a happy belly. :)
