Waterfalls in Dallas

Prairie Creek Park is one of the oldest parks in Richardson which is home to a beautiful waterfall. It is a popular picnic and hiking spot that spreads over 38 acres of land. Located on the honey creek Turner Falls is a 77 feet tall dropping natural swimming pool. Visitors can enjoy hiking along the beautiful trails and swimming in the natural pool. It is an abode in the Arbuckle Mountains and is a 130 miles road trip from Dallas.

A 80 foot hike into the canyon leads to the beautiful 50 foot waterfall which is located in the Hamilton preserve. The fall is surrounded by a collapsed grotto and has water flowing throughout the year. Hamilton preserve spreads over a 232 acres of land and is a 220 mile drive from Dallas.

The Krause Springs is prominently known for its camping and swimming site and attracts a lot of visitors in the summer. It is a 4 hour trip from Dallas and is located just outside Austin. Also called the Living waterfalls the Gorman Falls are at an elevation of 1000 feet. Located in the Colorado Bend State Park, this 2.6 mile round-trip trail is the best hike. Wichita Falls, the name of the city and the falls is an artificial man-made waterfall in Lucy Park. Built after the floods of 1800 washed away the original falls, this cascading three tiered falls is 54 feet high and a 2 hour drive from Dallas. A must-visit place for the tourists as they can enjoy the view of the Wichita River nearby and the various recreational activities in the vicinity of the park.

Cattail Falls is an 80 feet tall waterfall amidst the Chisos Mountains. It is located, in the Cattail Canyon, in the Big Bend National Park. The waterfall is a hidden gem of the Big Bend National park and is a must-visit after the spring rain. An abode to a variety of flora and fauna, it is a great trail for novice hikers.
